James Lubin

Ancaona's main product is KreyolDict, an app which combines a standard dual language (Haitian Creole and English) dictionary along with a social platform where users can come together to define other language constructs, such as slang, and idioms. KreyolDict is not released yet and still under active development, but is nearing completion! Anacaona was founded by myself and my two brothers. As the only technical founder, I am responsible for the majority of the development.

Key Contributions:

• Designed and developed KreyolDict (a visual dictionary application and social platform)
• Integrated libraries and tools into KreyolDict such as Firebase Authentication, Firestore, and Glide
• Migrated code base to follow the MVP architecture which led to an increase in flexibility and organization
• Implemented daily automatic trending post detection using Node.js and Google Cloud Platform

Philadelphia VIP is a pro-bono legal services non-profit that aims to help people who need legal assistance but cannot afford it.

Key Contributions:

• Facilitated migration of over 100 documents from former office storage system to a cloud-based platform
• Updated over 400 entries in the company database system by finding relevant fields across several projects
• Conducted internal analysis of organization spaces to optimize volunteer attorney and client interactions

Firestarter Group was a brand management start up that helped clients expand their online prescence.

Key Contributions:

• Created and managed websites with other developers both locally and remotely, for 5 clients using HTML, CSS, and Wordpress
